Fulltiltpoker.com – Hands of note Part 1
Fulltiltpokercom – Upon Walking to the shop the day after my local weekly tournament, I found myself thinking back over the pevious nights action when something struck me about a particular hand I had played. The blinds were 200/400 after an hour of play and I had around 7,000 chips from a starting stack of 6,000.
Three players (myself included) saw a ragged flop of (3,7,9) and the first player to act, who I knew to be an experienced, strong player, checked. I also checked having missed, and the young player last to act raised 600. I was immediately certain in my mind that he was trying to put out a feeler bet in the hope of picking up the pot. I also had a very distinct feeling that the strong player to my right was thinking exactly the same. Sure enough, our strong player reraises to 1,200 causing me to fold, and then the original raiser to quickly fold.
For some reason, I had folded a hand which had missed the flop completely, against a raise and a reraise in front of me. Well you might say, that is precisely what you should do, and that was my reflex reaction at the time. But upon closer examination, I could have been far more creative here because I know I had the situation in progress read perfectly.
The original raiser didn’t have a hand. Both myself and our other player knew that, but the strong player to my right was first to act with the reraise, almost certainly I felt, also having very little in terms of a hand.
He wasn’t concerned about me waiting to act because I had already checked the flop and appeared to have no part of it. on the basis of my certainty that neither player had any real hand, I could of in fact pushed all in over the top and got both players to fold.
It would have been a very intricate and skilled play to try and pull off, partly because of it’s heavy reliance on my reading. That said, this was one of those situations where I really felt certain my read of both players was spot on, and so I shouldn’t have immediately made a textbook fold.

Pokjeroom.co.uk – What Seperates the Good from the Great
Pokeroom – In my opinion, there are many different things which determine how a player develops from being talented, to very good, and then to great. I think the most important point is to ensure your development progresses by studying your own play and picking out faults in your game. It isn’t a case of saying to yourself that you’re incapable of playing poker, more of a case of nurturing your game towards it’s most effective point. concentration always helps to ensure you maximise your win to loss ratio, as does taking time off from poker to do other things.
Being able to think clearly about possible options for both your own and your opponents hands are essential to playing good poker. You need to be capable of both adjusting your own plans, and your judgement of how strong your opponents hand is. You must also use your bets as careful forms of leverage to further your understanding of the hand you are up against, and always be prepared to put the best hand down if you have to.
Overall, I know I am not an expert on the subject, but I have seen and played against many different players, some of which are very good and some which think themselves to be. We all have our understanding of the best way to become a good poker player, and if you are serious about the game, you should spend time exploring how to better your game. But as a starting point, I would say to keep putting the time in and absorbing all the information you can find, and you can only improve.

Pokerstars.com – The Worst of the Outdraws
poker stars – We have all been there as poker players, turning over the best hand by a mile and sitting there trying to work out if there is any possible way our opponent can win the hand on the turn or river. All of a sudden a card appears which makes you realise that there is in fact one….oh. Somehow, the guy who just made a terrible call, has hit runner runner to make the most ridiculous outdraw against you, leaving you feeling like you don’t ever want to play poker again.
The first person to go out in our live tournament the other day was a victim of such a travesty of justice, having been called by someone with bottom pair, who promptly hit runners for a straight by the river. I had a similar thing happen to me around six months ago. Sitting with (A,A) and seeing a flop of (A,6,4) After my opponent moved all in on the flop, I quickly called, and he showed (A,3). Awaiting the river which would mathematically make it impossible for him to win, I looked on in horror as the turn and river came a 5, then a 7 to complete his straight. this is something which does unfortunately happen in poker, and despite the fact that it is incredibly frustrating, we have to feel comforted by the fact that luck evens out.
As good poker players, we put our money in with the best of it a lot of the time, and if we’re being honest, the hands that stand up, never stick in the memory. So when it happens to you next, take a deep breath, congratulate your opponent, and know that you played the better poker.

Pokeroom.co.uk Review
The first time deposit bonus at Pokerroom stands at 100% up to an amount of $100. The 100% aspect is good, although I would like to see an upper limit of a little higher than $100. Along with this however, are 3 free tournament tickets which could provide a welcome boost to the preliminary bankroll.
There is a refer a friend bonus available too at Pokerroom, with $50 being paid to the referring player, and $50 paid to the referred new player too. The player points system onsite is good too, with the option to exchange points for merchandise, cash, or tournament tickets. This ensures you get the maximum options for what to do with the points that you earn whilst playing.
Qualification for the Aussie Millions can be obtained by playing at www.pokeroom.co.uk as well, and there are freerolls, gauranteeds, bounty tournaments and many promotions on offer to players too. Visually the site is quite good, although the same avatars used by many sites are the only options available. there is a poker school to help new players get started too, as well as the ‘Grand Series of Poker’ event for those players who are skilled, and serious about their poker. Help and support is available in three forms, namely, phone, email, and live chat.
These operate 24/7 and provide an excellent outlet of expert advice to solve your problems. Overall I think www.pokeroom.co.uk is good in many areas, and it should improve over time. It is not in my personal top few poker rooms, but I feel it has potential to do very well.

Fulltiltpoker.com Review
www.fulltiltpoker.com - is one of the best sites around, and has an excellent reputation. They have a team of poker pros onside, which includes the finest names in the game, and their endorsement shows the quality of Full Tilt. Their first time deposit bonus of 100% up to $600 is good, and equates to around the average for most top sites. Along with this, players will receive a seat in a $10,000 freeroll once they have deposited.
There is a large amount of information available onsite about how to set up an account, get started and receive your bonus, and this is important to help new players settle in I feel. The help and support at Full tilt is swift and competent, and transaction security is flawless, as you would expect from a big name poker room. The variety of games here is very good too, with Razz, Holdem, Omaha, and Stud being on offer.
The ‘Iron Man Challenge’ offers players the chance to achieve bronze silver or gold status, which in turn brings the opportunity to play in great value tournaments and competitions. Poker leaderboards run each month too, with cash prizes paid to the best players each month. The ‘one a day’ promoion running at Full Tilt is a very good one I feel, as it rewards dedication from players, as opposed to simply rewarding the biggest spenders. This promotion involves players needing to earn one player point per day for an entire month, thus gaining a seat in a special tournament for all these loyal players. All in all, some very good points of note at Full tilt, and the site remains amongst the best around in my opinion.
